Domain names help others to identify your website on the Internet.
UMYF.net provides each member with the ability to customize their look on the web. However, if you really want to make your site stand out, you should check into getting your own domain name. Domain names are nothing more than the name by which most people would recognize your website as. For example, umyf.net, umc.org, and youthspecialties.com are all examples of domain names. Whatever domain name you choose can be yours, provided of course that it is available.
UMYF.net provides each member with the ability to have their own domain name for their website. However, there are a few guidelines for doing such:
+ UMYF.net will host a domain name for any of its members. We however ask that any member wishing to utilize this feature make a donation to UMYF.net to help recover the costs associated with providing name space for your site. Donations can be made to donation@nextwind.net via PayPal.
+ UMYF.net will not be responsible for any and all fees associated with the domain name registration. Most domain names can be purchased for US $20 a year through the UMYF.net Registrar service. For more information, see the Domain Registrar section of the services page. Please make sure to avoid any billing problems with your domain by listing your organization as the billing contact for your domain.
+ UMYF.net must have the ability to make changes to a domain name registration for hosting purposes. Please make sure to list Nextwind Communications, our management company, as the contact for your domain. The contact for Nextwind Communications should be listed as hostmaster@nextwind.net.
+ The domain servers for you domain name need to be listed as such: ns1.nextwind.net (64.58.213.5) and ns2.nextwind.net (64.58.213.6). The Nextwind Communications domain servers must be the authoritative domain servers for you domain to be hosted by UMYF.net.
